Both David Warner (163 off 124 balls)  and Mitchell Marsh (121 off 108 balls) smashed centuries and added 259 runs in 203 balls for the first wicket. Pakistan’s openers Abdullah Shafique (64 off 61 balls) and Imam Ul Haq (70 off 71 balls) provided a firm start by forming a 134-run partnership before Marcus Stoinis (5-0-40-2) sent both the openers back to the pavilion within three overs. Following this Adam Zampa (10-0-53-4) took the crucial wicket of Babar Azam (18 off 14 balls) and then later dismissed Mohammad Rizwan (46 off 40 balls), the player who could have taken Pakistan over the line. Pakistan bundled for 303 runs while chasing the massive target in Bengaluru as it loses second consecutive match.

Babar Azam admits after Australia beats Pakistan

Pakistan captain Babar Azam delivered an honest appraisal of the defeat. “We were not up to the mark,” he said.“If you drop a catch like David Warner like we did, then they will not spare you. “We were not consistent in our line in that bowling lineup. “All credit to the fast bowlers and spinners, the way we came back, we just tried to hit a length and the stumps. You need good partnerships and we started well but then we had small partnerships.”
