The new Lord Ram Lalla idol was placed inside Ayodhya’s Ram Temple yesterday ahead of the ‘pran pratishtha’ or consecration ceremony on Monday, January 22, 2024.

The first photo of the idol – which was shared by Union Minister Shobha Karandlaje this morning – depicts the deity as a five-year-old child in a standing posture.

The 51-inch idol of Ram Lalla, sculpted by Mysuru-based artist Arun Yogiraj, is made of black stone. At first look, its just a master piece of stone art.

The Ram Lalla idol was placed in the sanctum sanctorum amid the chanting of prayers.

The rituals for the temple consecration started from January 12. On January 22, PM Modi will perform the puja for the “Pran Pratistha’, sources have said. A team of priests led by Varanasi dham’s Lakshmikant Dixit will perform the main rituals of the Pran Prathistha.

The Prime Minister is strictly following a set of rules and rituals ahead of his participation in the consecration ceremony of the Ayodhya Ram Temple.

Sources said the Prime Minister is sleeping on the floor with only a blanket and has been only drinking coconut water.

He has urged the public not to visit Ayodhya on January 22 as “we would not like to cause any problems to Lord Ram”, adding that everyone can come starting January 23.

The RED ZONE, which will have the strictest security parameters in place, will have more than 250 AI-based high-resolution cameras covering every inch of Ram temple.

Another 319-facial reading-based CCTVs cameras have been installed in yellow zone that covers Parikarma area, Ram Path and Hanumangarhi. These areas have separate command centers with special teams. While other centers have been made for keeping vigil on the riverine area.

A dedicated team of special cops in shifts have been deployed while experts roped in for dealing with technical glitches.

A devotee from Lucknow on Friday handed over ’56 bhog prasad’ that would be offered to Ram Lalla ‘first’ after the Pran Pratishtha ceremony in Ayodhya on January 22. Sajal Gupta said that he was told by Ram Temple’s chief priest Acharya Satyendra Das that the first prasad, which would be offered to Lord Ram after the Pran Pratishtha, would be given by him. “I have brought this 56 bhog prasad from Lucknow. (It was) Mahant ji’s order that after January 22, Pran Pratishtha, the first Prasad to be offered to Ram Lalla idol will be from our side,” the devotee said.
